Kuilsrivier is an Afrikaans word that means “fountain of the Koeiljies,” where Koeiljies is the name of a type of small antelope that used to be found in the area. The town is home to a number of industries, including manufacturing and agriculture. It is also a popular residential area for people who work in Cape Town, due to its proximity to the city.
